The Board's Role in Challenging Times (for NC Bank Directors only)

The Board's Role in Challenging Times is intended to help boards of directors understand how to perform their oversight role more effectively particularly as it relates to strategic planning and risk management. This high level forum for North Carolina state-chartered bank boards of directors offers attendees a setting to interact with leading experts and fellow bank director colleagues on effective board oversight processes in light of the rapidly changing business environment and emerging regulatory requirements. Sessions will closely examine best practices, tools, and techniques and the board’s involvement in strategic planning and value creation in today’s challenging economy.
Participants will gain practical knowledge on these core elements:
*Emerging Expectations for Boards
*In-depth Case Study: Cape Fear Bank including broader discussion of:
o Mergers and Acquisitions: Should You Consider a Merger?
o Raising Capital: When and at What Price?
*Where is Mark to Market Accounting Headed?
*Now What? Panel Discussion Covering:
o Responding to Changing Regulatory Requirements
o Reviewing Loan Portfolios
o Finding New Opportunities
Who Should Attend? The Board's Role in Challenging Times is by invitation only to North Carolina bank directors.
Cost: $595 for registrations by October 15th, $650 otherwise. Registration includes all program materials, lunch and cocktail reception on Thursday and breakfast on Friday.
